African social entrepreneurs are encouraged to apply for the FINCA Ventures Prize, a grant initiative offering up to US$70,000 for innovative solutions addressing global poverty. The application deadline is December 22, 2023 at midnight (GMT-5).
Organized by the non-profit microfinance organization FINCA International, with over 40 years of experience in poverty alleviation, FINCA Ventures focuses on impact investing in early-stage companies operating in agriculture, financial inclusion, health, and education across sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America.
The FINCA Ventures Prize welcomes applications from social entrepreneurs with ambitious visions, disruptive business models, or novel products/technologies poised to make a meaningful impact on the lives of poor and low-income individuals in developing markets.
The culmination of the prize will be an event in March 2024 in Washington DC, featuring in-person pitch presentations by finalists to a jury. The top winners in the categories of environment and health will be celebrated, and grant funding of up to US$70,000 will be awarded to finalists to further develop their social enterprises.
