The Burning Heroes (BH) Founders Association is proud to announce the opening of applications for the second edition of the BH Africa Startup Awards. This prestigious competition is dedicated to facilitating connections between innovative ventures and a wealth of investment and growth opportunities.

Rooted in the association’s core mission to democratize access to global opportunities for talented founders, the BH Africa Startup Awards embody a commitment to fostering an ecosystem where entrepreneurship can flourish without barriers. The association’s events, known for their collaborative and non-profit nature, are designed to bridge the gap between founders and a network of investors, media specialists, and industry experts, ensuring meaningful engagements that can propel startups to new heights.

Following the resounding success of the inaugural awards in 2023, which saw participation from over 80 startups from across the African continent, this year’s edition promises to be even more impactful. A panel comprising illustrious judges from leading tech giants and venture capital powerhouses—including Meta, AWS, Flat6Labs, Savant, Plug and Play, Katapult, and Starta VC—had the challenging task of selecting nine exceptional startups from a pool of highly competitive entries. These winners not only gained recognition but also secured valuable prizes to aid in their entrepreneurial journey.

In its continued effort to support early-stage startups, BH Africa is offering 30 innovative ventures the chance to present their ideas virtually before an esteemed panel of judges drawn from both African and European venture capital circles, as well as successful tech founders. The competition spans a broad array of categories, catering to a diverse range of interests and industries. Participants can vie for honors in fields such as mobility, prop-tech, climate, agri-tech, fintech, insurtech, space-tech, ed-tech, and AI for good.

Victorious startups will reap an array of benefits aimed at accelerating their growth and visibility. These include features in prominent media outlets, one-on-one advisory sessions with seasoned experts, exclusive pricing and promotional offers from BH Africa partners, and invaluable access to venture capitalists. Winners will also gain entry into BH Africa’s exclusive closed community, a privilege that opens doors to further networking and development opportunities.

Entrepreneurs looking to make their mark on the global stage should not miss this chance to showcase their innovation and ambition. Applications for the BH Africa Startup Awards are open until April 1. This is a unique opportunity to elevate your startup, connect with like-minded individuals and industry leaders, and potentially secure the support needed to turn your vision into reality.
