Nigerian ed-tech startup Tespire has successfully raised an undisclosed amount of pre-seed funding to fuel the expansion of its innovative, data-driven educational solutions.

Founded in 2022 in Northern Nigeria by Abdulkadir Suleiman Lapai and Umar Madugu, Tespire is on a mission to transform the education sector by providing school owners with digital infrastructure. This includes access to tablets, internet connectivity, and other tech-enabled tools to simplify their administrative processes and improve overall school management efficiency.

Tespire streamlines tasks like revenue collection and record-keeping for schools, reducing operational bottlenecks while collecting valuable data to drive personalized learning through artificial intelligence (AI). This emphasis on data and AI reflects the startup’s broader goal of leveraging technology to address deeper educational challenges in Nigeria and beyond.

Since its inception, Tespire has made significant strides in scaling its presence. Starting from its home base in Northern Nigeria, the startup has expanded into the emerging tech ecosystem in Abuja. It has also built strategic partnerships with major players such as MTN Nigeria, Flutterwave, and Remita, demonstrating its commitment to integrating cutting-edge solutions within the education landscape.

The recent pre-seed funding will allow Tespire to accelerate its growth by acquiring more schools and enhancing its platform to further improve access to quality education for young learners. This aligns with the startup’s ultimate vision of using data-driven insights to empower schools and create lasting educational impact across Nigeria.

“Tespire’s vision goes beyond just fixing administrative issues,” co-founder Suleiman Lapai said. “We are committed to using the power of data to increase access to quality education across Nigeria and other Sub-Saharan African countries. Our goal is to start with local schools and gradually scale toward a broader national and international market.”

This pre-seed funding marks a critical milestone in Tespire’s journey as it continues to build a robust platform that combines the best of technology and education, setting the stage for widespread digital transformation in the sector.
