Egyptian ed-tech startup EYouth, in partnership with a group of prominent local businessmen, has launched a groundbreaking initiative, NextEra Education, backed by a substantial investment of EGP 2 billion (US$41 million).

The initiative aims to radically transform Egypt’s education landscape through the integration of advanced technology and partnerships with leading international institutions.

Founded in 2016, EYouth initially focused on designing online training courses that equip young Egyptians with essential skills for the job market. By 2018, the startup fully transitioned online, offering career-boosting programs to thousands of students. Now, through NextEra Education, EYouth has joined forces with influential business figures including Mohamed Farouk, Ahmed Tarek, Mustafa Abd Ellatif, and Mokhtar Ahmed to modernize Egypt’s education system and prepare students for a fast-evolving global economy.

NextEra Education goes beyond incremental improvements, aiming for a radical overhaul of the country’s educational framework. The initiative will leverage AI technology, revamp outdated curricula, and collaborate with top international universities to provide Egyptian students with world-class learning opportunities. Its goal is to equip students with the skills needed for success in today’s competitive job market.

“NextEra Education is not just about creating another educational institution; it’s about reimagining the future of education in Egypt,” said Mustafa Abd Ellatif, CEO of both NextEra Education and EYouth. “Our investment, combined with AI integration and global partnerships, ensures that our students are not only prepared for today’s job market but also positioned to lead in the industries of tomorrow.”

Mohamed Farouk, CEO of Mobica and chairman of NextEra Education, further emphasized the initiative’s ambition. “Through these investments and our commitment to cutting-edge AI technologies, we are setting a new benchmark for educational excellence in Egypt,” he said. “Our vision is to create an educational ecosystem that effectively bridges the gap between traditional learning methods and the demands of the modern economy.”

NextEra Education has already secured partnerships with prestigious institutions such as the University of Minnesota, the Illinois Institute of Technology, and Nexford University. These collaborations will enable the initiative to offer accredited programs in high-demand fields such as Programming Systems, Cybersecurity, AI, Business, and Data Science, ensuring that Egyptian students have access to the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in the global workforce.
