Venture for Africa (VFA), a pivotal talent community specializing in connecting top tech startup hires with opportunities, has formed a strategic partnership with Africa Product Peers, a community for African professionals in product, design, and tech roles. Together, they are launching a specialized career boot camp designed for mid-level professionals across Africa.
VFA is renowned for facilitating the transition of global talent into influential roles within the African tech startup ecosystem. Its flagship three-month fellowship program provides participants with a deep dive into local market dynamics, delivers expert-led training tailored to essential roles, and offers introductions to leading startups that are actively recruiting.
The organization collaborates closely with startups to design its programs, incorporating hands-on projects for fellows to tackle, specialized workshops led by industry experts, and an accelerated interview process for fellows to secure their ideal positions upon completing the program.
This new collaboration with Africa Product Peers aims to leverage VFA’s track record of successfully placing mid-to-senior level talent and running targeted boot camps, alongside Africa Product Peers’ expertise in fostering a prominent tech community in Kenya. Previously, Africa Product Peers has successfully aided its members in securing job placements.
The upcoming career boot camp, specifically tailored for mid-career professionals with 3-8 years of experience, promises to equip participants with the necessary skills, support, and networking opportunities essential for succeeding in the competitive tech landscape.
Tobi Lafinhan, CEO and co-founder of Venture for Africa, expressed enthusiasm about the initiative: “At Venture for Africa, we are dedicated to empowering professionals to excel in the dynamic African tech ecosystem. Our objective is to bridge the gap between talent and opportunities within this vibrant startup landscape. This partnership allows us to extend our reach to mid-career professionals, combining our expertise with the community-driven approach of Africa Product Peers. We are confident that this collaboration will profoundly impact the professional trajectories of mid-career individuals across the continent.”
