In a strategic move to tackle energy shortages and boost sustainable power generation, the Zimbabwean government has announced plans to install its first solar panels on the Kariba Dam, Africa’s largest man-made dam. During a recent press briefing in Harare, Gloria Magombo, the Secretary for Energy and Power Development, revealed that the project will begin with an initial installation of 150 megawatts of solar panels on the surface of the Kariba Dam.
