Nigeria’s Itana, a digital free zone driving Africa’s digital economy, has announced a strategic partnership with Accelerate Africa to bolster the growth of emerging businesses across the continent.

This collaboration will equip startups with essential resources, networks, and hands-on support to overcome critical challenges and scale their operations effectively. By integrating their efforts, Itana and Accelerate Africa aim to revolutionize the entrepreneurial landscape in Nigeria and beyond.

Itana’s digital zone offers a comprehensive platform for global and pan-African technology and service-oriented enterprises to establish and expand operations in Nigeria. This zone provides a one-stop solution with competitive incentives in banking, taxation, immigration, and regulation.

Itana’s infrastructure also includes a Digital Residency community, a curated marketplace for trusted vendors, and the upcoming Itana District campus in Lagos, which will further enhance its support ecosystem.

In contrast, Accelerate Africa operates a pre-seed and seed-stage accelerator program that supports up to ten startups per cohort. This program delivers vital assistance in areas such as storytelling, team development, go-to-market strategies, product growth, and fundraising. The program seeks to enable startups to achieve $1 million in revenue within 12-18 months. Through this partnership, Itana will streamline the process for startups to register within its digital zone, allowing them to utilize its extensive infrastructure, regulatory support, and community resources. This integration will provide startups with a significant competitive advantage as they scale their operations.

Furthermore, the Africa Finance Corporation (AFC) will provide crucial financial backing to the initiative. As a key partner, AFC’s support ensures that participating startups have access to the necessary resources to achieve their growth objectives and drive innovation. The AFC’s involvement further strengthens the collaboration’s potential to drive transformative change across Africa’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

“Our partnership with Accelerate Africa represents a major milestone in our mission to empower African entrepreneurs. By giving startups direct access to Itana’s platform and resources, we are helping them gain a competitive edge and scale their businesses more effectively,” said Luqman Edu, CEO of Itana, as he emphasized the significance of this collaboration.

In conclusion, this strategic alliance underscores a shared commitment to fostering transformative change across Africa’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. By combining their strengths, Itana and Accelerate Africa are poised to make a substantial impact on the growth and success of startups across the continent.
