Omolara Sanni, Co-founder of Middleman, emerged as the winner of the Wetech PitchHER Contest, held at the Wetech Conference at the Landmark Event Center last weekend. The competition, which spotlighted female-led startups across Africa, saw Middleman’s innovative logistics solutions take the top prize.
Sanni’s Middleman, which aims to revolutionize supply chain management by simplifying interactions between businesses and suppliers, impressed the panel of judges. The victory earned Middleman a cash prize, alongside mentorship and other resources to help grow the business subsequently.
The competition also featured impressive pitches from four other female entrepreneurs:
- Ruby Ihekweme, Founder/CEO of Digitally Drive, focused on digitizing educational experiences.
- Uchechi Arinze, Founder/CEO of WafflesAI, an AI-powered business process management platform.
- Ngozi Nwabueze, Founder/CEO of Pocket Lawyers, a legal tech company making legal services more accessible.
- Esther Eruchie, Founder/CEO of FriendnPal, a mental health platform connecting individuals to therapists.
Gabriella Uwadiegwu, Co-founder of Wetech, praised the remarkable talent displayed by all the finalists. “These women are proof that Africa’s future in technology is bright. Each of the contestants presented solutions that address real challenges, and I commend them for their passion and innovation,” Uwadiegwu said.
