Cchub-Mastercard Foundation Edtech Fellowship Now Open.

CcHub and Mastercard Foundation have joined forces to empower ed-tech startups dedicated to developing tools that improve learning outcomes and facilitate equitable access to high-quality education for Africa’s next generation. Startups selected for our accelerator program receive the following benefits:

  1. Equity-Free Funding: Qualified startups receive $100k in equity-free funding throughout the accelerator program.
  2. Support & Mentoring: Access to multidisciplinary experts for guidance in design, product development, and tech optimization.
  3. Investor Network: Exposure to a network of investors to facilitate the scaling of their products.
  4. Additional Support & Mentoring: Ongoing access to our team of experts for continuous support in design, product refinement, and tech optimization.

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Africa-Focused and Incorporated in Nigeria: Startups must have a primary focus on Africa and be legally incorporated in Nigeria.
  2. Solution Alignment: Startups should be developing solutions addressing challenges in K-12, tertiary education, and vocational skills training.
  3. EdTech Solution Requirements:
    • The EdTech solution must demonstrate verifiable users aligned with our accelerator’s focus areas: education access, student learning, school management, and teacher/trainer effectiveness.
  4. Inclusive Teams:
    • Applicants are encouraged to have a well-balanced team, all sharing a passion for education.
    • Female founders of EdTech solution companies are strongly encouraged to apply.

Application Process

Application Review Process:

Stage 1:

  • Interested innovators are invited to submit their applications below.
  • EdTech solutions will be assessed based on the following criteria:
    • Problem/Solution Fit
    • Founder Potential
    • Business Model Fit
    • Traction

Stage 2:

  • Selected EdTech solutions from the first stage will undergo further evaluation based on the following criteria:
    • Scalability
    • Long-term Plan/Vision
    • Competitive Advantage
    • Team Potential

Stage 3:

  • The final stage involves interviews with applicants who have successfully passed the assessment stage.
  • A final selection will be made, contingent upon successful due diligence.
