Applications Now Open for the Second Cohort of Open Startup’s Grow Program.

OST GROW.

Open Startup has officially launched the second cohort of its investment readiness programme, GROW, a groundbreaking initiative designed to empower advanced African startups to scale their businesses and secure essential funding eventually. This programme represents a significant opportunity for promising ventures across the continent, providing them with the tools and support they need to navigate the often challenging landscape of startup growth.

Open Startup, a non-governmental organization with a strong commitment to fostering innovation, capacity building, and entrepreneurship, has a longstanding reputation for driving impactful change through education and cross-cultural exchange. With the GROW programme, Open Startup is reinforcing its dedication to cultivating the next generation of African entrepreneurs particularly.

GROW tailors its comprehensive 12-month investment readiness programme specifically for African startups that have already raised up to US$350,000 and are now aiming to secure their first US$1 million in funding. This ambitious target reflects the programme’s focus on helping startups transition from early-stage ventures to established, scalable businesses. Key partners, including AfricaGrow, Africinvest Group, BPI France, and Go Ventures, collaborated to develop the programme, ensuring a robust network of support and expertise.

Participants in the GROW programme will benefit from a rich array of resources and services designed to help them expand into new markets and achieve their growth objectives. This includes mentorship from seasoned industry professionals, access to a network of investors, strategic partnerships, and tailored growth strategies that address the unique challenges and opportunities of the African market.

Building on last year’s success, where 13 startups were selected from a competitive pool of over 600 applicants and provided with guidance and resources, the GROW programme is set to continue its mission of supporting African startups on their path to growth and sustainability. The impact of the programme has been evident, with participating startups demonstrating significant progress in their business development and funding efforts.

Startups eager to join the second cohort of the GROW programme should apply by the August 31 deadline accordingly. This is a unique opportunity for ambitious entrepreneurs to gain the support they need to take their businesses to the next level and make a lasting impact in their industries afterward.
