Ghanaian Fintech Company, Paybox, widely known for its dedication to providing seamless cross border payments and transfer innovations across the African Continent has launched a new mobile application, Buddy.

Founded in 2021, Paybox was created with the intent to equip SMEs with end-to-end electronic payment and financial solutions that would enable them attain maximum efficiency. Its widespread use in at least 23 countries, where it has earned the title of the PayPal/Stripe of Africa, demonstrates its success.

Buddy, its newest innovation is a user-friendly mobile application that combines the use of cutting-edge blockchain technology and artificial intelligence to drive even more dynamic business solutions. It is an all-encompassing financial platform that aims to provide young African entrepreneurs with inclusive financial services and autonomy.

Although Paybox already offers easy integration into its payment API as one of several benefits, Buddy hopes to build on this by reversing inflation, decreasing transaction costs, simplifying cross-border payments, and enhancing investment yields. The app offers payment and expense management, intercountry transactions, 24/7 customer support, transaction monitoring, and a wealth of financial history.

A distinguishing feature of the new Buddy app is its AI component (the Buddy AI -Beta) which will enable customers to participate in insightful discussions concerning their finances, aimed at providing them with valuable information and guidance to make astute financial decisions.

Paybox touts Buddy as a revolutionary innovation that is comparable to popular financial services providers like Monzo and PayPal, but with a direct focus on the African market and powered by the rapidly evolving field of Blockchain technology.

“Imagine Buddy as a fusion of PayPal or Monzo’s functionality with the added advantage of blockchain technology, all linked to a mobile number. With this vision, Buddy emerges as a dual-platform solution, functioning as a user-friendly mobile app and a dApp, placing the power of financial management directly in your hands,” the startup explained.

The introduction of Buddy into the African Market will revolutionize the continent’s financial landscape by providing a platform that enables ease of financial transactions while also empowering youths with financial literacy.
