Tunisian energy management startup Wattnow has successfully raised a multi-million dollar funding round, further strengthening its position in the clean-tech sector.

The investment comes from notable venture capital firms, including Lateral Frontiers VC, which has previously backed promising African startups.

Founded in 2018 by Issam Smaali, Wattnow provides businesses with smart energy management systems that help optimize their energy consumption. By leveraging Internet of Things (IoT) technology, the startup’s solution helps identify inefficiencies, track trends, and reduce energy waste across various business locations.

This funding will enable Wattnow to expand its operations, focusing on product development and geographical expansion. Recently, the company also announced plans to establish a subsidiary in France, showcasing its ambition to extend its footprint beyond Tunisia. Wattnow’s innovations in energy management have garnered attention for their potential to contribute to energy conservation efforts on a global scale, particularly within industrial sectors that are energy-intensive.

The funds will also fuel the company’s R&D activities, which aim to refine its technological capabilities and enhance its product offerings. Wattnow’s growth aligns with the global trend of investing in sustainable energy solutions, positioning the startup as a significant player in both the African and European markets
