Application now open for Young African entrepreneurs for 2025 Anzisha Prize

Anzisha Prize 2024

Young African entrepreneurs are invited to apply for the 2025 Anzisha Prize, Africa’s premier fellowship for youth-driven business innovation, aimed at empowering a new generation of job-generative entrepreneurs across the continent. A core initiative of the African Leadership Academy in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, the Anzisha Prize is a multi-year fellowship that offers an unparalleled platform for young founders aged 15 to 22 to grow their businesses, connect with industry experts, and drive economic progress within their communities.

In the 2025 edition, the program will select thirty-five outstanding entrepreneurs to join a transformative fellowship, offering them direct access to business coaching, hands-on learning opportunities, and diverse resources designed to advance their ventures. The program’s benefits extend beyond monetary prizes, offering support in the form of short courses, access to cloud services, and cash stipends for developing sustainable, scalable businesses.

This year’s fellowship has placed a special emphasis on young “green” entrepreneurs whose ventures address pressing environmental challenges with innovative, sustainable solutions. “We are looking for passionate individuals tackling environmental issues with scalable, impactful businesses,” said Didi Onwu, Managing Editor of the Anzisha Prize. This focus aligns with the Prize’s commitment to promoting environmentally conscious entrepreneurship, reflecting Africa’s growing role in the global green economy.

The fellowship also offers unique opportunities for further recognition. At the end of the second year, fellows will pitch their businesses for a chance to win a share of $50,000, with prizes awarded in categories such as job creation, revenue growth, storytelling, and systems integration. Graduating fellows will then join the Anzisha alumni network, a prestigious community of over 250 young African entrepreneurs, providing continued support and connections across the continent’s burgeoning entrepreneurial landscape.

“The Anzisha Prize has championed young African entrepreneurs for over a decade, spotlighting their contributions to economic development and job creation,” added Onwu. “We’re excited to see the innovative solutions and passion for progress that this year’s applicants will bring.”

Applications for the 2025 Anzisha Prize open on October 8, 2024, and present an unparalleled opportunity for young African entrepreneurs to gain invaluable business support, build networks, and potentially secure significant funding to further scale their impact. The program encourages African youth with a vision for change to seize this opportunity to transform their ideas into impactful ventures, sparking a new wave of entrepreneurship across the continent.

Applications are open here until November 8.
