The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) of Egypt has unveiled a groundbreaking initiative, ITIDA Gigs, aimed at equipping young Egyptians with the skills and tools necessary to excel in the rapidly growing global freelancing market. This ambitious program targets training and empowering 20,000 university students and fresh graduates, providing them with practical knowledge and strategic insights to succeed in the digital economy.

In partnership with EYouth, an Egyptian EdTech startup with a significant presence across the Middle East and Africa, ITIDA Gigs is poised to create a skilled freelance workforce, bridging the gap between academia and the job market.

A Vision for Egypt’s Freelancing Future

Open to individuals aged 18 and above, the initiative seeks participants with a foundational understanding of IT-related fields such as web development, data science, digital marketing, artificial intelligence (AI), and cybersecurity. While prior freelancing experience is not mandatory, basic familiarity with these domains is preferred.

The program delivers a comprehensive training curriculum covering freelancing fundamentals, marketing strategies, professional branding, negotiation techniques, and project management. These essential skills will empower participants to thrive in a competitive global freelancing landscape.

Ahmed El-Zaher, CEO of ITIDA, described ITIDA Gigs as a strategic initiative to cultivate Egypt’s freelance market, bolster the national economy, and create non-traditional employment opportunities.

“Freelancing has become a global priority for individuals and businesses amid rapid shifts in the job market. ITIDA Gigs represents our commitment to equipping Egyptian youth with competitive digital skills, fostering a robust digital economy, and positioning Egypt as a regional hub for digital talent,” said El-Zaher.

Innovative Collaboration with EYouth

ITIDA selected EYouth through a competitive tender to implement the initiative. With a proven track record of delivering digital education programs to over 3 million learners, EYouth is well-positioned to drive ITIDA Gigs to success.

Mustafa Abd El-Latif, CEO and Co-Founder of EYouth, emphasized the program’s potential to revolutionize freelancing in Egypt.

“We are honored to collaborate with ITIDA on this transformative initiative. Our goal is to build a strong freelance community that positions Egypt as a global leader in competitive digital talents,” said Abd El-Latif.
