The AgriTech4Egypt Innovation Challenge is now welcoming submissions from passionate scientists and entrepreneurial minds who are working on agricultural technology solutions aimed at transforming Egypt’s agricultural sector into one that is more sustainable, efficient, and resilient to climate change.
This unique initiative is tailored for early-stage agri-tech enterprises within Egypt that have already developed a minimum viable product (MVP) or proof of concept (POC). The goal is to assist these ventures in refining their go-to-market strategies by offering technical validation and enhanced market access.
This challenge is particularly interesting in agri-tech innovations that fall within critical areas such as digital agriculture and precision farming, agricultural finance solutions, sustainable development of the agricultural value chain, tools for capacity building, and effective water management for irrigation.
Participating ventures stand to gain a comprehensive package of support designed to lay the groundwork for a successful agri-tech business capable of scaling within Egypt. This includes participation in a fully funded, four-day intensive boot camp, opportunities to network with a wide array of partners and agricultural businesses, tailored advice from CGIAR scientists and industry experts, and a sponsored six-month acceleration program.
Moreover, participants will have the chance to test and refine their solutions in real-world settings with end-users for up to six months. They will also be eligible for an equity-free grant of up to EGP300,000 (approximately US$6,500), provided by ASRT, and have the opportunity to showcase their innovations to investors and explore further market opportunities.
The application window remains open until April 21. The accelerator program is scheduled to run from June to October, culminating in a demo day in November where participants can present their ventures to a broader audience.
