The fifth edition of the Startups Without Borders annual summit is scheduled for May 10–11 in Cairo, hosted at Kamelizer Spaces in District 5. This year’s theme, “Break Borders, Build Global Horizons,” aims to unite 3,000 global innovators and major tech industry players.
Participants will include esteemed speakers and investors from the UK, Japan, the US, Senegal, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia, such as Ibrahim Sagna, Sadaharu Seiku, and Michael Lints, focusing on equipping entrepreneurs to establish globally-oriented businesses.
Valentina Primo, founder and CEO of Startups Without Borders, expressed enthusiasm for the event: “For the past six years, we have traversed cities across MENA and Europe to forge a transnational entrepreneurial ecosystem. Amidst regional challenges, we see immense value in harnessing the transformative potential of cross-border collaborations, drawing participants from as far as Italy to the Gulf. Our summit is a catalyst for turning crises into opportunities through visionary entrepreneurship.”
A highlight of the summit is the debut of the AI Salon, a novel event format developed in partnership with US-based VC Blitzscaling Ventures, marking its premiere in the Middle East.
In addition to a lineup of prominent speakers, the summit will feature the Investor Room, which successfully facilitated 460 meetings between startups and investors last year. This initiative matches startups with investors based on industry relevance, geographic location, and investment size, fostering targeted and impactful connections through one-on-one interactions.
