West African super app Gozem has announced the upcoming launch of its fintech product, Gozem Money, in Togo, in partnership with NSIA Banque. This new mobile money solution will be available starting in the fourth quarter of 2024, marking Gozem’s further expansion into the financial services space.

Originally launched in Togo in November 2018 as a taxi-hailing service, Gozem has since evolved into a super app operating in 16 cities across Togo, Benin, Gabon, and Cameroon. With over one million registered users and more than 20 million trips completed since its inception, Gozem is now broadening its ecosystem with innovative financial services.

Gozem Money, developed in partnership with NSIA Banque, will empower Gozem customers in Togo to perform a variety of financial transactions using their Gozem wallet. These services will include paying bills, making purchases both within and outside the Gozem ecosystem, transferring money to other users, and managing personal finances more efficiently.

Designed to facilitate digital payments and offer a more accessible alternative for monetary exchanges, Gozem Money aims to drive the adoption and growth of digital financial services. The platform will ensure interoperability with existing financial systems, further promoting the use of digital finance solutions.

“The launch of Gozem Money is a natural evolution of the Gozem app, which aims to be a super app that simplifies the lives of its users. Initially available in Togo, Gozem Money will enable our clients and partners to conduct financial transactions swiftly through the app, both within the Gozem ecosystem and with external entities,” said Jean-Martial Moulaud, COO and group director of Gozem.

The service is expected to expand to other countries within Gozem’s operational footprint in the near future.
