AltSchool Africa has officially announced its expansion into Europe, a significant milestone in its mission to democratize education globally. The announcement was made during the prestigious SuperCharger Ventures Demo Day on December 2, 2024, marking the culmination of AltSchool’s participation in the accelerator program.
This expansion builds on AltSchool’s growing traction in Europe, particularly in the United Kingdom, which ranks third in registered users after Nigeria and Kenya. CEO Adewale Yusuf highlighted the company’s vision, stating: “At AltSchool, we believe that talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not.
Our mission is to create accessible pathways for individuals to transform their lives and help businesses build the teams they need to innovate and grow. Expanding to Europe allows us to bring this vision to a region facing its own unique challenges in the workforce.”
Since its inception in 2021, AltSchool has enrolled over 100,000 students across programs in engineering, business, the creative economy, and cybersecurity. The company is also expanding its revenue models, exploring B2B and B2B2C offerings, and has received full accreditation from the Accreditation Service for International Schools, Colleges and Universities (ASIC).
Unlike its primarily online approach in Africa, AltSchool’s European operations will adopt a hybrid model, with Malta serving as its base for in-person engagements. Initial programs will focus on cloud engineering, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and data science. AltSchool is also collaborating with the Maltese Ministry for Education to pursue local accreditation, mirroring its success in gaining recognition in Africa.

The startup aims to leverage resources, mentorship, and partnerships gained through the SuperCharger Ventures accelerator to deepen its impact in Europe. While AltSchool doesn’t promise job placements, its career team continues to explore initiatives that help students secure employment post-completion.
This expansion reinforces AltSchool’s role as a pioneer in the edtech sector, bridging skill gaps and fostering global talent development.
