South African startup Insight Terra has raised $5.7 million in Series A extension funding to advance the capabilities and reach of its AI-powered greenhouse gas (GHG) and environmental risk management platform.
Specializing in real-time analytics, Insight Terra transforms complex environmental data into actionable insights, enabling organizations to monitor and mitigate their environmental impact. The platform helps businesses improve sustainability, ensure regulatory compliance, and address the growing demands for climate-conscious operations.
The funding round was led by E3 Capital, with participation from Fireball Capital, Atlantic Bridge, Globalive, and JLR Star. This capital injection will furthermore enable Insight Terra to expand its commercial and technical teams, accelerating its support for global industries to improve staff safety and meet international standards.
Alastair Bovim, co-founder and CEO of Insight Terra, highlighted the importance of this funding in driving climate-tech innovation.
“This investment demonstrates a strong commitment to leveraging technology to address climate change while prioritizing safety and sustainability across industries. It will allow us to significantly scale the platform’s capabilities and tackle complex challenges in monitoring, reporting, and verification that industries face today,” Bovim said.

He also emphasized the urgent need for tech-enabled solutions in South Africa, where climate change poses significant risks to critical infrastructure and communities. He pointed to the 2019 Brumadinho dam collapse in Brazil as a stark example of the environmental and human costs of insufficient risk management.
