At the heart of the recent Connect Xperience event, TelCables Nigeria unveiled its bold vision to revolutionize digital infrastructure in Nigeria with Clouds2Africa, a locally hosted cloud platform tailored specifically for African businesses. The event served as a platform for TelCables to demonstrate how local cloud innovation can outpace even international giants in relevance, performance, and affordability.
In front of an audience of business leaders, tech professionals, and policymakers, TelCables Nigeria’s Pre-Sales Engineer, Israel Ogboi, painted a compelling picture of a future where Nigerian businesses no longer need to rely on overseas servers or deal with latency issues and regulatory uncertainty.
“Clouds2Africa is not just another cloud platform. It’s designed for Nigeria, by people who understand Nigeria’s digital terrain,” Ogboi emphasized during a dynamic live demo that showcased the platform’s real-time scalability, enterprise-grade security features, and intuitive user interface. “We’re offering an alternative that’s local, secure, and high-performing.”
Built on infrastructure hosted in two Tier III data centres in Lagos, Clouds2Africa ensures low latency, data sovereignty, and compliance with Nigerian data regulations – critical factors for businesses navigating the complexities of digital transformation.
A highlight of the demo was ACloudConnect, TelCables’ hybrid Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) offering. This innovative solution establishes dedicated, secure connections between on-premises IT environments and major global cloud providers. By bypassing the public internet, ACloudConnect significantly reduces cyber vulnerabilities and enhances connection stability.
Ogboi acknowledged that challenges remain – from policy inconsistencies to a shortage of skilled cloud professionals – but said TelCables is proactively addressing these barriers. Through initiatives like the Partner Enablement Program and a strategic collaboration with ISPs and resellers, TelCables is helping partners adopt flexible, revenue-sharing cloud models and upskill their teams.
“Events like Connect Xperience are part of our larger mission to build a vibrant, inclusive digital economy. We’re investing in skills, tools, and partnerships that will accelerate Nigeria’s cloud readiness,” Ogboi added.
TelCables Nigeria operates under the umbrella of Angola Cables, a global connectivity provider known for its expansive subsea cable systems and more than 300 cloud onramps across the world. According to Fernando Fernandes, CEO of TelCables Nigeria, this global backbone empowers local customers with unmatched connectivity and computing power.
“Nigeria has the potential to lead Africa’s digital renaissance,” said Fernandes. “With Clouds2Africa, we’re ensuring Nigerian enterprises have the resources they need to scale globally, securely, and sustainably.”
As the digital economy in Africa grows at an unprecedented rate, solutions like Clouds2Africa offer a much-needed local alternative that blends world-class infrastructure with homegrown relevance — putting Nigeria in the driver’s seat of Africa’s cloud revolution.
