Nigeria’s digital economy continues to lead Africa’s digitization efforts, and Airtel Africa remains a steadfast partner in accelerating this progress. During a high-level meeting in Abuja with His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Airtel Africa Chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal, KBE, and CEO Sunil Taldar reaffirmed the company’s commitment to empowering Nigerian youth and advancing the country’s digital transformation.

Mr. Mittal announced Airtel Africa’s support for the 3 Million Technical Talents (3MTT) program, pledging to provide digital skills training for 25,000 young Nigerians across 80 local government areas. This initiative aligns with the government’s vision to equip the next generation with the necessary skills to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

Additionally, he introduced the Airtel Africa Fellowship, which will sponsor 10 Nigerian students to study tech-focused courses at India’s prestigious Plaksha University. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between local talent and global opportunities, equipping young Nigerians with world-class education and exposure.

Speaking on Airtel Africa’s broader vision, CEO Sunil Taldar emphasized the company’s dedication to advancing Nigeria’s digital economy through strategic investments and partnerships:
