Google has announced the 15 exceptional startups selected for Class 9 of the Google for Startups Accelerator: Africa, reflecting Africa’s growing role in shaping the global tech landscape—particularly in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Chosen from a competitive pool of nearly 1,500 applications, these startups represent Ghana, Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, and South Africa, and are addressing major challenges across fintech, agritech, healthtech, logistics, and professional services.


🚀 A Commitment to African Innovation

Launched in 2018, the Google for Startups Accelerator: Africa aims to empower African startups solving deep-rooted problems through tech innovation. So far, the program has supported 153 startups from 17 countries, helping them raise over $300 million in funding and create more than 3,500 jobs.

The Class 9 cohort, running from June 23 to August 22, 2025, will participate in a hybrid accelerator program packed with resources, including:

  5. Midddleman (Nigeria) – AI-driven platform for safe and fast imports from China.
  6. Myltura (Nigeria) – AI-based digital health platform for remote care and data insights.
  7. Pastel (Nigeria) – AI enterprise tools for fraud detection and compliance.
  8. Rapid Human AI (South Africa) – AI-powered platform for turning ideas into code at speed.
  9. Regulon (Ghana) – AI compliance and onboarding tool for businesses across Africa and EMEA.
  10. Scandium (Nigeria) – AI QA suite enabling faster and cleaner software deployment.
  11. Shamba Records (Kenya) – AI-powered credit and market access for smallholder farmers.
  12. Smartel Agri Tech (Rwanda) – AI and solar-driven crop pest and disease detection systems.
  13. TOLBI (Senegal) – AI + satellite-powered agricultural yield forecasting.
  14. YeneHealth (Ethiopia) – AI app improving access to affordable medications and health services.
  15. Zerone Analytiqs (Ghana) – Tackling Africa’s data scarcity with smarter data sourcing and analysis.
