UCT GSB Solution Space and Ayoba have opened applications for the latest edition of the e-Track program, aimed at supporting startups from across the continent.
Run by UCT GSB Solution Space – a specialized center of the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business – the E-Track program is an early-stage venture acceleration and capacity-building program designed for high-impact entrepreneurs. This initiative provides a comprehensive support structure for startups, focusing on both the foundational and advanced aspects of business development.
Funded by Ayoba, a super-app built to narrow the digital divide in Africa for users while accelerating the digitization and growth of small businesses, the e-Track program has two distinct phases.
Phase one is the Venture Launch program, which concentrates on validating the venture concept. This phase is ideal for participants who have or wish to develop both for-profit and non-profit scale-ups. During this phase, participants will receive guidance and mentorship to refine their business ideas, ensuring they are viable and ready for market entry. All participants who successfully complete phase one will receive a UCT GSB certificate, signifying their achievement and readiness for the next step in their entrepreneurial journey.
Upon completing phase one, participants pitch for phase two, where only 15 startups are selected. Phase two accelerates the development of these validated ventures. This phase includes intensive mentorship, advanced business training, and opportunities to network with industry leaders. The program culminates in a pitch day, where ventures present their businesses to a room full of potential investors, venture capitalists, and capacity builders. This event provides startups with the opportunity to secure the necessary funding and support to scale their operations and achieve significant growth.

The e-Track program not only equips entrepreneurs with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed but also connects them with a network of experienced mentors and potential investors. This holistic approach actively prepares participants to navigate the startup ecosystem’s challenges and make a lasting impact.
Applications for phase one are open until June 30, and interested entrepreneurs can apply here. This is a unique opportunity for startups across Africa to gain the support and resources needed to turn their innovative ideas into successful ventures.
