Colis, a Moroccan cross-border logistics startup, has recently raised $300,000 in a pre-seed funding round led by Witamax, a Moroccan venture capital firm, to boost its operations and expand its presence across Morocco and West Africa. Established in 2022 by CEO Issam Darui, Colis offers specialized cross-border logistics solutions, allowing for efficient parcel delivery between Morocco and six European nations.

In just over a year, the company has facilitated the delivery of over 55,000 parcels, experiencing a remarkable fivefold growth and establishing itself as a significant player in North Africa’s logistics landscape. Colis combines technological innovations with strategic logistical practices to bridge North Africa and Europe, aiming to simplify and accelerate parcel delivery in underserved routes.

The capital infusion will enable Colis to enhance its technological infrastructure and broaden its reach into West African markets while consolidating its Moroccan and European operations.

With a 380% increase in annual recurring revenue in 2023, Colis has demonstrated strong growth, further bolstered by earlier investments from The Baobab Network and its participation in the Plug and Play Morocco accelerator. These programs have provided both financial backing and valuable strategic guidance, allowing Colis to refine its business model and strengthen its operational foundations.

Colis primarily caters to individual clients with family connections spanning continents and small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) in sectors like cosmetics, artisanal crafts, and organic products. These SMEs benefit from Colis’s mission to simplify logistics, enabling African businesses to reach European markets more effectively. “Our goal is to become a key player in logistics between Africa and Europe,” CEO Darui stated, underscoring the company’s commitment to pioneering technology-driven logistics solutions for intercontinental connectivity.

With this recent funding and a strategic roadmap focused on scalability and technology, Colis is poised to solidify its role as a critical link in the logistics ecosystem between Africa and Europe, aligning its services to support both regional and international expansion goals.
