As artificial intelligence continues to reshape the global technology industry, Think UX 2026 is preparing to bring together Nigeria’s design and technology community for a major conversation about the future of user experience, product development and innovation.
Scheduled for Saturday, 7 November 2026, at Tripple C Event Center, Sabo Yaba, Lagos, the conference will explore the theme “UX in the Era of AI.”
Organised by UX Thrive, Think UX has developed into a platform connecting designers, technology professionals, founders, students and creative thinkers through industry conversations, knowledge sharing and collaborative experiences.
The 2026 edition will examine the opportunities and challenges emerging as artificial intelligence becomes increasingly integrated into the tools and processes used to design and build digital products.
Exploring the Changing Role of Designers
The rapid adoption of AI powered design and development tools is raising important questions about the future of creative and technical careers.
As artificial intelligence becomes capable of generating interfaces, prototypes and functional digital products, industry professionals are being challenged to reconsider the skills, processes and perspectives that define their value.
Think UX 2026 aims to bring these questions into the open through keynote presentations, panel discussions and debates featuring professionals from different areas of the technology ecosystem.
Conversations will explore the future of design careers, the relationship between human creativity and AI, the changing expectations of product teams and the opportunities available to African innovators.
The conference will also examine how designers can move beyond producing attractive interfaces to creating experiences that solve meaningful problems and deliver business value.
Practical Learning Through Industry Masterclasses
Beyond the main conference discussions, Think UX 2026 will offer practical masterclasses designed to equip attendees with skills they can apply to their professional work.
The planned sessions will explore three areas of modern digital product creation: building scalable design systems, developing products with artificial intelligence and creating distinctive brand identities.
The masterclasses are intended to bridge the gap between industry conversations and practical execution, providing participants with insights into the processes and tools used by professionals working on real products.
₦500,000 Design Duo Challenge to Spotlight Creative Collaboration
One of the highlights of Think UX 2026 will be the ₦500,000 Design Duo Challenge, a team based competition bringing together brand identity designers and UI/UX designers.
Unlike conventional design competitions focused on individual submissions, the challenge requires two designers to collaborate on a single creative brief.
For the online qualifying stage, participants will work on MoveLagos, a fictional urban mobility platform designed to help commuters discover transport options, plan journeys and estimate fares.
Each team will consist of a brand identity designer responsible for developing the brand’s visual language and a UI/UX designer responsible for translating that identity into a digital product experience.
Teams will publish their completed submissions on Instagram, LinkedIn or X, where judges will review eligible entries and select finalists for the live competition.
The online submission deadline is 1 November 2026.
Shortlisted teams will compete at Think UX 2026, with the winning duo receiving a ₦500,000 cash prize.
The competition is designed to demonstrate how branding and product design can work together to solve problems, while giving emerging creative professionals an opportunity to showcase their skills.
Recognising Excellence Through TUXA 2026
The event will also connect attendees with The UX Design Awards (TUXA) 2026, an initiative celebrating outstanding contributions to user experience, innovation, mentorship, entrepreneurship and community development.

The event will also connect attendees with The UX Design Awards (TUXA) 2026, an initiative celebrating outstanding contributions to user experience, innovation, mentorship, entrepreneurship and community development.
TUXA recognises professionals and organisations whose work is helping advance the design and technology ecosystem.
The awards complement the conference’s broader focus on professional growth by celebrating both the achievements of established industry figures and the potential of emerging talent.
Building on the Success of Think UX 2025
The upcoming conference follows the 2025 edition, which recorded more than 2,000 registrations and over 1,000 attendees.
That gathering brought together members of the design and technology community for keynote presentations, industry discussions, networking and live creative competitions.
The organisers hope to build on that momentum in 2026 by creating more opportunities for learning, collaboration and meaningful professional connections.
According to Olawale Bamidele, founder of UX Thrive and convener of Think UX, the conference is intended to encourage professionals to participate actively in shaping the future of technology.
“Artificial intelligence is changing how we design, build and experience technology. The important question is no longer whether AI will influence our industry, but how we prepare ourselves to create meaningful value in this new era. Think UX 2026 is about bringing people together to explore those possibilities, learn practical skills and build the connections that move our industry forward.”
