Village Capital, in collaboration with Moody’s Foundation, has unveiled “Greentech 2024: The Future of Sustainability,” an accelerator program aimed at preparing investment-ready, sustainable ventures. Since its establishment in Africa in 2012, Village Capital has launched over 14 accelerator programs, significantly impacting early-stage companies by facilitating access to essential social and financial capital, fostering both business growth and impactful societal contributions.
Together with Moody’s, a leading global risk assessment firm dedicated to empowering organizations through informed decision-making, Village Capital is setting the stage for Greentech 2024. This initiative is focused on propelling forward-thinking, sustainable solutions that are critical in enhancing resilience and addressing the challenges posed by climate change within the African continent.
Greentech 2024 is part of an extensive international campaign that also spans Latin America and Asia. It aims to nurture and scale startups committed to combating climate change effects through environmental damage mitigation, agricultural enhancements, waste reduction, pollution control, natural resource preservation, and improving access to water, sanitation, and health services.
This call to action invites regional startups that are pioneering solutions to expedite the transition towards sustainable development. The focus areas include clean technology and climate technology, agricultural technology and food security, circular and regenerative economy, natural resource management, and water, sanitation, and health sectors.
