Female-led or “female-empowering” startups in South Africa and Kenya are invited to apply for RaiseReady, a seven-week program designed to help founders source, pitch, and close deals with African angel investors more quickly and on fair terms.

Organized by Viridian, an impact agency that designs and delivers programs for early-stage entrepreneurs, investors, and entrepreneur support organizations across Africa, RaiseReady aims to equip founders with the knowledge, confidence, and tools needed to secure angel investment. The program will introduce their investment cases to active angels.

“We are not going to teach you how to pitch or refine your business model; we assume you already have customers and market traction. This program will help you navigate the final steps of raising angel capital,” Viridian stated.

RaiseReady will guide founders through the entire angel investment process, outlining what to expect and prepare for at each stage, and how to successfully close a fair deal. Participants will learn to determine a market-related valuation and prepare their deal rooms for angel investors.

Founders will receive feedback from an angel investor, and their investment cases will be shared with active angels interested in their region or sector. Participants will also have the opportunity to present at the African Angel Academy’s showcases.

“This program is for startups with a customer-validated, scalable, and competitive business model, who believe they have a strong investment opportunity for angel investors,” Viridian added.

Applications for the seven-week program, which begins at the end of May, are open here.
