Applications are now open for the Climate-Smart Agriculture Angel Network, a transformative initiative designed to support investments in agricultural startups tackling the twin challenges of climate change and food security. This innovative program is spearheaded by the African Business Angel Network (ABAN), Africa’s largest network of angel investors, in collaboration with Scaling Digital Agriculture Innovations through Startups (SAIS), an accelerator initiative implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. Together, these organizations aim to empower passionate individuals who are committed to advancing sustainable agricultural solutions in Africa.

The Climate-Smart Agriculture Angel Network seeks to enhance the capacity of angel investors in identifying and supporting ventures that prioritize sustainability, productivity, and resilience within Africa’s agricultural sector. Participants in the program will receive comprehensive training tailored to the unique demands of investing in climate-smart and agri-tech startups. They will also gain access to exclusive networking opportunities, allowing them to engage with other investors and innovative startups addressing critical environmental and agricultural challenges.

Additionally, the program provides direct exposure to groundbreaking ventures through curated showcases, fostering connections that can lead to impactful partnerships. Technical assistance is also available to ensure participants maximize the value and effectiveness of their investments. By focusing on strengthening Africa’s agricultural ecosystem, the program not only empowers investors but also advances scalable solutions that improve livelihoods and drive economic growth.

Applications for the Climate-Smart Agriculture Angel Network are open until December 20, 2024. Interested individuals are encouraged to apply here.
