Applications are now open for the sixth edition of the 12-month OceanHub Africa accelerator, which will support up to 24 of Africa’s most promising impact-driven for-profit startups dedicated to preserving and restoring ocean health. The accelerator will run in two intakes, in March and July, with applications reviewed on a rolling basis.
OceanHub Africa is committed to fostering environmentally conscious and profitable businesses that tackle pressing challenges such as global warming, overexploitation, and ocean pollution. The program leverages an extensive network of industry stakeholders and facilitators to help startups build sustainable business models that ensure stable returns on investment (ROI) and scalable growth opportunities across Africa.

Startups selected for the OceanHub Africa accelerator gain access to a global ocean-impact ecosystem, including leading ocean experts, mentors, self-development coaches, alumni, impact investors, and potential clients and collaborators. The program provides hands-on support to accelerate business growth and drive impact.
The hybrid-format accelerator includes:
- A one-week in-person bootcamp
- Participation in the annual Ocean Innovation Africa Summit
- Remote learning sessions using online tools and communication platforms
Exclusive Perks and Resources
Startups in the program will also receive:
- Up to US$75,000 worth of AWS credits
- Over US$40,000 in mechanical engineering design software licenses for prototyping and virtual testing, courtesy of 3DExperience Lab
- Additional perks and resources to support product development and business scaling
